An Opportunity to Love
The spectacle of the brilliantly talented individual struggling vainly for happiness through artificially stimulated living, which often ends in tragedy, may seem to justify gossipy criticism. But the Christian Scientist finds in such an occasion an opportunity to love.
The individual who is most gifted may be the most lonely. One with exceptional talent sees much that others do not see. His loneliness may seem extreme because he can find no one to share his view.
Christian Science can heal this loneliness. And the Scientist can do much to make known the presence of the healing truth. Compassionate thought, which understands the individual's plight and understands his mistaken efforts to find happiness, does not condemn but loves, and this thought combined with an understanding of divine Love will reach the heart of the lonely one.
