[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on February 27, 1966.]
He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever (Luke 1: 33)
The term "the house of Jacob" refers to all the descendants of Jacob, or Israel; in other words, to the children of Israel. The New English Bible has, "He will be king over Israel for ever." (Cf. Science and Health 583: 5-9.)
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone (Matt. 4:4)
