Some individuals are deeply acquainted with the scriptures contained in the Bible. But many do not know the Bible....This book contains some of the highest wisdom of human living—ideas, aspirations, challenges—which can transform an individual or a whole human community.
Let me quote from the teachings of Jesus: "If thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift." Before you can truly and fully take part in the communal expression of religion, you must be prepared to face and acknowledge all that you have done to harm others and to make amends for it. Which of my readers does not need to go make amends to someone?
