Words cannot express my deep gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, for Mrs. Eddy, and for her God-inspired book, Science and Health, which reveals the spiritual meaning of the Bible to us.

In my childhood I was always wondering if there was any reason for existing. I could not find any, and this lack of purpose made me unhappy, depressed, and always ill.

When still in my teens I went to England, where Christian Science was introduced to me. My knowledge of the English language was slight; so it was difficult for me to read Science and Health, but I grasped the spiritual import of it quickly. Shortly after I had found this great truth, which provided an answer to all my questions, I proved in my own experience that it is a demonstrable Science.
