Relief from Strain and Stress

Although many people may defend their right to worry, it is helpful to remember that worry is a form of sin. It is a denial of God's presence and care. It is fear dressed up in respectability. He who trusts God implicitly will not indulge in this form of malpractice, or wrong thinking.

We learn in Christian Science that God is omnipotent Love and that man is the child of God, the beloved of the Father. We learn that evil is unreal, that it is not part of God's universe. We learn that God's will is a law of harmony and blessing to all individuality. Then one might well conclude, "What in heaven is there to worry about?"

One may have his doubts about his ability to demonstrate these scientific facts. But ability comes from God and is freely bestowed on man as God's expression. The point at issue is one of proper identification. Do we really grasp and individualize the scientific fact that man is the expression of God, the activity of divine Principle? Mary Baker Eddy touches upon this point in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," when she says, "Man is the expression of God's being." Science and Health, p. 470; And Jesus pointed to the source of ability in his statement, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." John 14:10;
