Five years ago, late in the summer, two of our children developed an unsightly skin condition known as impetigo. We asked a Christian Science practitioner to help us through prayer, and I shall always be grateful for the patience, love, strength, and confidence expressed by this practitioner.
The children were diligent in their study of the Lesson-Sermon, provided in the Christian Science Quarterly, and they also learned this verse from Job (11:15): "Then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear." The disease spread no further; and within ten days their appearance was normal, and they started school on opening day.
Another child, however, developed this same condition in a much more alarming form, and we began to be very fearful that she would miss the first days of school. I realized I was checking her appearance each day; and in doing so, I was becoming more anxious, since there was no sign of improvement.
