"See that ye be not troubled"

Many are shocked and perplexed by the distressing events of today, yet know not how to interpret or cope with them. Furthermore, they often are unaware of the mental forces which claim to produce these terrifying phenomena.

Our Master, Christ Jesus, has told us how to conduct ourselves to ensure safety and peace of mind when faced with threats and fears. The entire twenty-fourth chapter of Matthew bears deep study, because it aptly describes the tempestuous times of today. But how grateful we must be that our Way-shower instructed us so that we are able to face each crisis confidently. He said, "Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled." Matt. 24:6;

Students of Christian Science understand that outward upheaval and seeming chaos indicate the surfacing of evil, a violent attempt by evil to avoid its certain destruction, its only destiny—final obliteration by eternal Truth, God. Can we afford to be passive, paralyzed with fear, or confused by conflicts? Indeed not. The more aggressive the claims of evil, the more unshaken must be our declarations of the truth, of the omnipresence and omnipotence of God. Vehemently we must insist, "The Lord God omnipotent reigneth." Rev. 19:6;
