When a very young child, I saw...
When a very young child, I saw my mother experience a wonderful healing in Christian Science. She immediately placed me in Sunday School, and during the intervening years I have experienced many healings, including those of broken bones, headaches, and injuries. Lost articles have been recovered, and wonderful demonstrations of supply have been made.
Our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us in Science and Health (p. 228): "There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God."
Sometime ago, while eating a fish dinner, I suddenly felt a sharp bone stick in my throat. I kept on eating, thinking it would dislodge itself, but it remained. Then I started to affirm spiritual truths, declaring that man is an idea of God and that nothing inharmonious can enter his being. Many helpful statements came to me from our Leader's writings, among them were these: "Truth is affirmative, and confers harmony" (ibid., p. 418), and, "Truth, Life, and Love are a law of annihilation to everything unlike themselves, because they declare nothing except God" (ibid., p. 243).
