I should like to express my gratitude...
I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the complete reversal of my character which it has accomplished.
Though I was reared in a Christian Science Sunday School, I strayed away from its teachings for several years. During that time, while serving a three-year tour of duty in the United States Army, I consented to surgery for the removal of cartilage in my knee, torn while playing basketball.
The operation was not successful and periodically the knee continued to be troublesome. I had been taught that a permanent healing was possible through Christian Science treatment, but a sense of guilt due to my not living in accord with the teachings of Science stopped me from asking for it.
