"The shadow of the Almighty"

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty," is a familiar and reassuring passage from the ninety-first Psalm. It contains a condition and a promise. The condition requires us to dwell "in the secret place of the most High." Where, is this "secret place." and how can we dwell there? Through Christian Science we learn that this place is not a geographical location. It is, rather, a state of spiritual consciousness, the kingdom of heaven. It is the realm of holy thoughts, in which infinite Mind reigns supreme.

Through Science we also learn that evil, error, ignorance, darkness, sin, disease, or death has no place in this sanctuary of omnipotent Love. The physical senses, with their false testimony about man, cannot comprehend this spiritual consciousness, nor can they inject into it the hypnotic suggestions of a so-called mortal, or carnal, mind.

The individual described in the fifteenth Psalm as one "that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart... that back-biteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour" surely is the one who dwells in "the secret place."'
