Problems Are to Be Solved Where We Are
How often one hears another wish that he were in another community, in a different job, or back in his own home! Most want a change, but many want to get away from the troubles and complexities of their present situation. They want to leave their problems instead of solving them.
Mrs. Eddy, through her discovery of Christian Science, has given mankind the means to handle problems where we are. Christian Science teaches that nothing exists outside of consciousness. When one finds himself in an unpleasant situation, he may want to move away from it. But one cannot get away from belief by moving away; he takes the situation with him in thought —in the belief of an unhappy past. The grass is definitely not greener on the other side of the fence, street, or sea.
One must change his belief about the condition; in other words, he must heal his thought about it rather than move away from it. Relying on the teachings of Christian Science and letting the light of Christ illumine consciousness can and does bring healing.
