Teaching a Child Obedience
Today , society is faced with the growing problem of juvenile delinquency, and parents need to be alert to protect their children lest they be influenced by this evil, calling itself a world belief.
An answer to the problem is found in the Bible, where the writer of Proverbs offers wise and practical counsel: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (22:6). New meaning is given to these words through the revelation of Christian Science, which shows the truths children should be taught so that they may become right thinkers and good citizens.
The writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, contain many admonitions and rules pertinent to the training of children, and proper discipline is advocated by this God-inspired woman, who faithfully followed Christ Jesus in the way he pointed out.
