Drawing Mankind

The warmth of love felt in any Church of Christ, Scientist, means a great deal to the progress of the organization. Both members and nonmembers need to feel this tender, impersonal but warm love in order that there may be full fruitage from the church services. The Readers, the ushers, in fact, all the members, have a high task set for them, that of greater consecration and devotion to God, if they are to draw mankind to Christian Science by reflecting Christly qualities.

Prayerful metaphysical preparation for the services and the loving actions flowing from this uplifted prayer will bring the spiritually hungry to the feast of Soul. Jesus indicated this when he said (John 12:32), "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."

Consecrated, prayerful work by members influences the harmony of the services, the receptivity to the healing message, the fruitage of greater attendance and healing. This outgoing love, including mankind in prayer, is especially important. The tendency may sometimes be to withdraw under a supposed mental barrage of opposition, but Christian Science is the gift of God to humanity. All mankind are really seeking what this Science has to offer. Therefore we must do our part in making it available to all.
