Divinely Inspired Activity

A librarian from Illinois writes:

"I had been giving considerable thought to the realization that the Christian Science Reading Room is the outward manifestation of a divine idea; that it is part of Mind's unfolding plan of salvation for all mankind revealed to Mrs. Eddy; that its establishment is her demonstration, God-inspired, God-directed, and God-supported, and that the idea underlying it holds in the present moment the same vitality and power it possessed when it dawned in her thought.

"So it was that the healing purpose of the Reading Room was shown in the experience of a young student of Christian Science. She stopped at our librarian's desk to say that for some time she had been struggling with the problem of unemployment, and now the situation had become acute. The librarian replied, 'Well, you have come to take advantage of Mrs. Eddy's demonstration for you. You know that using a Christian Science Reading Room means much more than seeking out a harmonious place to study. Truly the Reading Room is the outgrowth of a divine idea, a part of God's plan as it unfolded to our Leader. When you use it, align yourself with God's plan.'
