Demonstrating God's Law of Progress

Progress is an ever-present self-enforcing law of God. Mankind's ceaseless demand for progress in every phase of human experience indicates that the rules by which this law is applied should be understood and put into practice.

We read in the first chapter of Genesis (verses 27, 28): "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it." This command has nothing to do with a material sense of creation, but it does relate to the law of spiritual progress which can be demonstrated in human experience.

Christ Jesus pointed to a basic element of progress when he said (John 12:24), "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit."
