Christian Science came into...
Christian Science came into my life when I was about twelve years of age through the healing of my mother at a time when physicians could do no more to help her. I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, and I regard the years of attendance that followed as a priceless privilege.
I should like to tell of two healings that have meant much to me. The first was that of my mother. Returning home to lunch one day, I found her resting on her bed. She told me she had broken a bone in her wrist and asked me to ring a Christian Science practitioner for treatment which I did. When I returned home in the evening, Mother was preparing the evening meal as usual, and told me that shortly alter I had rung the practitioner she heard a click in her wrist.
One of my sisters, who was a fully trained medical nurse, found it hard at that time to accept the possibility of such an immediate healing of a broken bone and felt sure that the injury must have been a sprain. This impelled my mother to go to the largest government hospital in Sydney, where we were staying at the time, and have an X ray taken. When she called for the results, the doctor who attended to her confirmed the fact that the bone had been broken, and said that he had never seen a broken wrist bone set so perfectly.
