Christian Science and the Businessman

Today businessmen are called upon to adjust themselves to more and more complex situations and, at the same time, to operate within the framework of moral and ethical requirements. Upon their shoulders rests the responsibility of keeping the economy in order, of providing opportunities for investors, laborers, producers, consumers. Their services contribute greatly to the progress of communities and nations. Those who turn to God, the divine source of intelligence, to guide them invariably come up with right answers to perplexing questions.

If the businessman is acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science, he acknowledges that sound wisdom—a necessity in business—is a quality of divine Mind that is bestowed impartially upon each individual. The difference between individuals is the degree to which each one recognizes the nature of the wisdom divinely bestowed upon him and intelligently exercises it.

One's appreciation of his potentialities increases as the idea of man's relationship to God as His expression unfolds in one's consciousness. For this reason, a businessman takes a great step forward when he seeks to understand divine Science. This is especially true when he lives and conducts his business in obedience to the moral and spiritual laws which regulate and control in accord with divine Principle.
