Letters from the Field

The following reports of fruitage from sharing the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, have been selected from the many letters which were received in response to the communication of November 15, 1962, to all members of The Mother Church from The Christian Science Board of Directors.

My work as a Committee on Publication has taken me into different parts of the province in which I reside—into Afrikaans-speaking homes, amongst the Indians, and into a large African location for African workers. Christian Science naturally appeals to all of these types, but the difficulty lies in reaching them. Our radio programs are doing a grand service, however. About one third of the inquiries resulting from them come from Africans.

A few months ago I was placing some of our books in a library used mainly by Indian students. The librarian expressed the view that they would not have time to read the books. I spoke to some of the nearby students about it, and they assured me of their interest. I mentioned the textbook, and one student asked to be the first to borrow it.
