I should like to express my gratitude for the following healings that stand out clearly to me.

We had just finished our breakfast one day and my husband had gone out, when I found I could not walk normally. I managed to get to the table where the telephone was and called a practitioner to ask her to do some prayerful work for me.

As I started to move to the chair where I was going to read and study, I fell to the floor. I could not move; but I could think, and I prayed to know that this was not happening to the real child of God. I kept on for some time, but I knew I had to call someone. I called to my neighbor in the next apartment, and she and my landlady telephoned my husband to come home. Together they picked me up and put me on the bed.

I had four similar spasms through the day. Each time my husband called the practitioner, and each time I could feel the parts of my body which had been affected return to normal.

I kept declaring the truth. I was quite calm and knew I was in God's hands. By evening I was up and helped to get dinner. I have been very grateful for this experience. I have since done days of heavy work without ill effect, and I keep praising God for His goodness.

At the time we were having help in Christian Science because of lack. My husband and I are florists, and we were both out of work. Each time we went to try to get a job, we were told we were too old. I kept repeating to myself, "This is not the truth of God's man."

We took the human footsteps and put our names in an employment agency, and in about three weeks we received notice to call at a certain address. We found a very young man who wished to open a floral shop and wanted a man to manage the shop and to teach him the trade.

This is our third year in the new shop, and we thank God for such an opening for us. We are in a new community, and I have transferred my church membership to a nearby branch church, having left the town where we had lived for twenty-five years. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church.

I should like to tell of another experience. When I was five years old I began to stammer. The doctor said there was no cure, because my speech glands were paralyzed. My parents took me to several specialists who also said there was no cure.

When I was sixteen years old, through the help of an aunt, I took up the study of Christian Science. At times I was very much discouraged and would fall by the wayside, but I would pick myself up and go forward again. School was very hard on me; and when I grew old enough to work away from home, the stammer hampered me.

It has taken years; but through the help of many practitioners and my determination, I now feel I can get up in church and talk. I used to be afraid to talk to strangers. I would not answer the telephone or get up in school and recite, and fear really had its hold on me. Now I can use the telephone and converse easily. In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 368), "When fear disappears, the foundation of disease is gone." This I have proved.

I am grateful to God for Christ Jesus, our dear Master, for our beloved Leader, for her steadfastness and purity, and for the practitioners who have stood by me so stanchly.—(Mrs.) Irene Frances Smit, Everett, Washington.
