I should like to express my...

I should like to express my gratitude for the regenerating and healing power of Christian Science. Before I began its study I was a sick and ailing woman, having undergone many operations and having received much other medical treatment. Among my difficulties was a serious stomach condition.

There had always been a longing in my heart for something that would uplift me and take me out of myself. The first thing that presented itself to me was practical psychology. I listened to lectures and read the books, but I was not satisfied. Then I became friendly with a very dear woman. She was not interested in Christian Science but evidently knew something of its teachings, for she sensed my need and presented me with a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had been brought up in the Jewish faith.

Soon afterward I became ill, so much so that I was kept in my bed for close on a month with a doctor in daily attendance. During that time I became despondent and longed to be free from doctors and medicine. One day I was quite alone in my room when the thought came to me clearly that I should stop all medication and take up Christian Science.
