I have had many beautiful proofs of the healing and protecting power of Christian Science. Years ago, when I taught school, I often needed the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and on one occasion I called on one of these dear practitioners to pray for me because my gums were badly poisoned. The next day I was on my way to her office in the city to have another talk with her when, to my astonishment, the gums suddenly began to drain. I was completely healed there and then.

One Friday evening after dinner a few years ago, when I was going to finish some renovations I was busy doing, my hand sewing machine fell on my foot. For a moment I was stunned. Then thoughts came that were comforting, and I said to myself: "There is help hand. All the faithful work I've done in Christian Science will help me now." Presently I was repeating statements of truth from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and collecting my thoughts on the Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon I had studied that morning.
