The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" (Prov. 10:22). It is with heartfelt gratitude that I am able to bear witness to the truth of this Scripture through the demonstration of Christian Science. The proofs that I have experienced of God's omnipotent law of harmony prompt me to share this testimony with others in order that they too may glimpse God's great love for man.

When I was a young boy, I used to be awakened at night with severe earaches. At these times, my parents obtained the help of a Christian Science practitioner who was living in a distant city. On each occasion, relief was promptly forthcoming. Gradually, these attacks ceased entirely, leaving no impairment of hearing. This healing provided abundant proof to me of the efficacy of Christian Science, as well as of the fact that a practitioner need not be present with a patient.

On another occasion, as I was studying the Quarterly Lesson-Sermon one morning, I began to manifest symptoms of influenza. I immediately applied to the situation the truths which I had learned in Christian Science. I realized that these symptoms were part of the aggressive mental suggestion that I could be a mortal, something which God never made.
