Through adherence to what it...
Through adherence to what it means to be a member of The Mother Church, I have had many proofs of God's constant and loving care.
While I was a student at a university and taking a student-teaching class, I awoke one morning to find that impetigo had broken out on my face. It was necessary that I appear at 10 a.m. before a class of children. Fear at first told me this was impossible, and I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner.
The practitioner talked to me of perfect reflection and quoted to me, "Man is, and forever has been, God's reflection" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 471), assuring me that I could go to the class. I did this. But just before I went into the classroom, I felt I must look at myself because I did not quite believe the smoothness of my face when I touched it. When I looked into the mirror, my skin was perfectly clear. I shall always be grateful for this quick healing.
