Sometime ago my arm and leg on one side of my body were suddenly paralyzed. There was considerable pain, and moving was very difficult. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner the condition was healed, and I lost only one day of work. I am very grateful for the healing of physical pain and inactivity, but I am even more grateful for a clearer understanding of the words of the Master, Christ Jesus (Luke 10: 20), "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

For years before learning of this great truth, Christian Science. I had been haunted by a great sense of fear—of people, of circumstances, of events. Today the knowledge that God is my Life, the source of my strength, health, supply, and understanding, is a constant source of comfort during my daily activities.

I have had many healings through the application of the teachings of Science. Undesirable traits of character have been and are being corrected by the understanding that "man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. p. 47").

My wife had an infection break out on both legs. A practitioner was called upon for help, and everything cleared up except for one sore which remained open for over eight months. My wife was elected Second Reader of a branch church at the time the infection developed and was able to fill her post each Sunday. I was very grateful to witness this healing, for it gave me a newer meaning of patience. I never heard my wife complain at anytime.

I am realizing more and more that God is Love and that our reason for living is to worship God, good; hence the practicability of the First Commandment (Ex. 20:3), "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction, for the help of practitioners, and for the privilege of knowing that the true selfhood of each member of my family is that of an idea of God.

I thank God for the life of the master Christian, Christ Jesus, and for the life of Mrs. Eddy, the revelator of the spiritual meaning of the teachings of the Master.—J. Hubert Stickler, Harleysville, Pennsylvania.
