Christian Science came into my experience in my early adulthood, not through my need for physical healing but through my desire to know God and to express good, a desire which had grown steadily from my early youth.

The first hymn I sang in a Church of Christ, Scientist, is called "Communion Hymn" by Mrs. Eddy. It contains the lines (Poems, p. 75),
