Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and...

Mrs. Eddy , the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, tells us on page 167 of Science and Health: "It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error. There is but one way—namely, God and His idea—which leads to spiritual being." A few months ago I practiced and proved the above statements by our Leader.

I was on my way home late one afternoon when suddenly my car went out of control and with terrific force hit a telephone pole on the sidewalk and turned over. When I became conscious, there were many people around me. Everyone kept urging me to go to the hospital, for I was in a serious condition.

The police also felt that I should be taken to the receiving hospital. They were very nice, but I begged to be taken home. I finally told them that I was a Christian Scientist and that I felt I could work this out in Science. They said they respected my religion, but they insisted on taking me to the hospital. They took me in an ambulance.
