Many years ago when I had only just begun to attend a Christian Science church, my first grandson was healed at the time of his birth of an obstruction in his intestines. The best medical talent in this city was helpless. My daughter, the child's mother, was frantic with fear.

I had no understanding of Christian Science at this time, but the truth of this religion was taking hold in my consciousness. I asked my daughter if she would try Christian Science. She replied that she would try anything. The doctor was consulted, and he gave us his permission to obtain Christian Science treatment. At eleven o'clock I began a search for a practitioner.

This was on a Saturday night. I am sure I was God-directed in my search. The practitioner I telephoned to got out of bed and talked with me. On Sunday morning he called at the hospital. From this time on, the baby received no medical treatment. The practitioner asked everyone except the child's parents to leave the room and requested that the baby be brought to his mother. The child had not retained food up to this time.
