I have many reasons to be grateful...

I have many reasons to be grateful for Christian Science, and I am happy to relate two. First, I was healed of tuberculosis of the lungs after all my family had passed on with this illness, I was a young married woman with a small child when the disease presented itself, and I was having hemorrhages of the lungs. Since I knew that medical treatment had not healed my relations, I turned to Science, I was completely healed within three months, although I had been told by a physician that I would not live for six months.

Another healing was that of a baby granddaughter for whom my husband and I had been given complete responsibility. She could not keep her milk down, and I felt perhaps the formula was not good for her; so I called the doctor who had delivered her. He said that nothing was wrong with the formula. I called a practitioner, who worked for a week but with no results. I then decided we had to work this out ourselves.

I felt there was some obstruction, and I used this citation from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 463): "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." In a few days, when the baby was supposed to be taking her nap, I heard her cry. When I got to her, she had again brought up all her food, and with it an open safety pin an inch long which by this time had turned green. In a couple of days she was feeding normally.
