With a heart full of gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, I am writing this testimony. I had been a semi-invalid for some years, ruled by medication, dietary laws, hygiene, without any improvement in my condition, which had been diagnosed as fallen abdominal organs.

At last one of my doctors informed me that I could never be any better and added, "I think the only thing for you to do is to try Christian Science." That was in 1923 Two years later, after further medical treatment from different doctors, I was again advised to try Christian Science. This time I was ready to do so though I was entirely ignorant of this Science, never having seen the textbook, Science and Health, or heard of its author, Mrs. Eddy.

I sought out a practitioner who lived nearby. Never shall I forget the gentle way in which she received me. She listened quietly to my long tale of woe—I now realize that she was mentally denying it—and, after giving me a brief explanation of Science, said, "Now I am going to give you a treatment." I did not know what she meant, but this I do know: I left her home completely healed, with a quiet confidence that all was well. Medicines and diet were immediately discarded and have never been used since.
