One evening about three years...

One evening about three years ago, I sprained my ankle badly. A friend was called on for Christian Science treatment, which was readily given. Some days after the friend had been spoken to, it suddenly dawned on me that I was entirely healed and was walking with no pain, limp, or discomfort whatever. I am indeed grateful for this demonstration of the power of Love in healing as it is taught by our Leader in the textbook.

Also I wish to express much gratitude to Christian Science for having been given the strength to overcome the smoking habit, to which I had been addicted for over fifty years and which I had tried to conquer with no success very many times.

One day while studying the Lesson-Sermon, given in the Christian Science Quarterly, I was arrested in my reading by the First Commandment (Ex. 20: 3), "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." I asked myself, "What are my other gods, if any?"
