One day, after I had been studying Christian Science for about two years, I was seized with severe pain in one of my limbs and across my back. Having worked and prayed for several days without receiving am relief, I had to call for the help of a Christian Science practitioner. Several weeks went by with sleepless nights and frequent attacks of pain that seemed almost beyond human endurance. When I walked, it was with great difficulty and discomfort.

Early one morning my husband helped me from the bed to a chair near an open window, then left the room to prepare breakfast for himself and our young son. The quiet beauty of the early morning and the grandeur expressed in nature lifted my thought to a contemplation of the beauty and perfection of God's spiritual creation. I was encompassed in a peace and serenity never before experienced; and suddenly I found myself standing on my feet. I had gotten out of the chair without assistance and without difficulty or pain.

I walked across the room, which was quite large, then through two other rooms with no conscious thought of a physical body. It seemed as though I were floating on air. I was free! I had been lifted into the atmosphere of divine Love, which is far beyond human comprehension. With outstretched arms, to show I was leaning on nothing for support. I entered the room where my husband was, declaring, "I am healed; I have no pain; I can walk." I was standing on holy ground, embraced in the allness of God and aware of my oneness with Him as His blessed child.
