A God at Hand

Can guidance and direction be found in the Bible for twentieth-century needs? It might be argued that problems confronting people thousands of years ago were so different from the problems confronting a highly industrialized age that what would have applied then could hardly be expected to apply today.

This would be true if it were not for the fact that although human conditions change from generation to generation, the changelessness and ever-newness of divine Truth and Love will continue to hold the answer to humanity's problems until the facts of divinity have completely transformed mankind and the law of harmonious being reigns supreme. This law is timeless, ageless.

In the Bible we learn that the leaders and prophets of the Israelites conceived of Deity as a God at hand. They communed with Him. They sought divine guidance. They placed their trust in His presence and power, and they endeavored to make the people order their lives around His laws.
