"Thou hast put off my sackcloth,...
"Thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent" (Ps. 30:11, 12). These words describe what God has done for me through Christian Science. From the first time I opened my mother's copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I have loved Christian Science. Although understanding very little of it at first, I knew it was what I most desired.
Then at a time when I was suffering from a nervous breakdown and failing health, my condition became alarming and a doctor diagnosed the early stages of what he called quick consumption. Several days later I was given the name of a Christian Science practitioner, upon whom I called. I was healed in one treatment.
A new life unfolded beautifully, and ever since I have enjoyed good health. From then on, I began to understand more of the meaning of Mrs. Eddy's teachings, and I have devoted my time to trying to live up to her spiritual revelation.
