Young People in the Practice
[Of Special Interest to Young Men and Women]
The young student of Christian Science needs to feel the importance of demonstrating what he knows of the truth; that is to say, he must consciously enter the practice of this demonstrable Science. Why is this? Because of error's attempts to delude students into believing that Christ Jesus' teachings are no longer practical in a changing world. The alert young Scientist has already learned, however, that Christ, which Jesus demonstrated, is the true idea of God and that this idea can be consciously revealed to all receptive individuals in their daily experience.
It is often mentioned in reference to the advancing student of the Science of the Christ that he is ready to go into the practice. Although it may take more unfoldment and experience before one can become a full-time practitioner of this Science, the fact remains that one who has begun to know and utilize the truth of God and man has already started in the practice. To use a familiar term, he is prepared to "go the distance" in the uninterrupted demonstration of Truth's liberating power.
All young Christian Scientists should be confident of their own demonstrations of the results of Mind understood and gradually learn to handle all forms of error. In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy speaks prophetically of some of these forms (p. 102), "The mild forms of animal magnetism are disappearing, and its aggressive features are coming to the front."
