Two winters ago I broke a bone...
Two winters ago I broke a bone in my ankle. These thoughts came to me at once: "You do not need to wonder why this happened. You shouldn't have been so resentful about having to do the job you were given this morning. Instead, you should have been grateful that you were able to help out your fellow workers and that they felt you could handle the job."
In a very few minutes I was able to start to walk back to my office, which was in a government installation, to obtain permission to go home. A young man helped me up a flight of stairs to a telephone booth inside the office building from which I called a practitioner for treatment.
The practitioner asked me what I planned to do, and I said I was going to ask permission to go home and be allowed to rely on Christian Science treatment. I told him that it was necessary for me to walk about two more blocks to reach my own office and that I felt that I could do it all right. All this time I was declaring truths of Christian Science.
