When
an individual limits his activities or accomplishments because he believes he is lacking in ability, he is giving in to error instead of overcoming it.
At
this time of year when many Christian churches are observing the Lenten period of penitence and fasting, it is well to ponder in the light of Christian Science the true nature of fasting as revealed in the Bible.
The
young student of Christian Science needs to feel the importance of demonstrating what he knows of the truth; that is to say, he must consciously enter the practice of this demonstrable Science.
Confronted
with a pressing problem, a Christian Scientist endeavors to gain a sound grasp of the situation; then he applies his understanding of divine Truth, thus bringing to bear upon the problem Truth's redemptive and healing power.
"It is possible,—yea, it is the duty and privilege of every child, man, and woman,—to follow in some degree the example of the Master by the demonstration of Truth and Life, of health and holiness," writes our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures".
