The Need for Spiritual Inspiration

[Of Special Interest to Young Men and Women]

Amid the contradictions of material knowledge, the college student sometimes finds his thinking heavy, completely lacking in spiritual illumination. His need for spiritual inspiration can, however, be met today, as in Jesus' time, by the Christ, Truth, as understood in Christian Science. On the college campus, the student of this Science should exemplify this quality since the Principle he demonstrates provides not only the ability to express love, but also the opportunity to do so.

A student at a small, midwestern university in the United States found himself unable to share the healing truths which he had learned from studying the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Convinced that he had accumulated a considerable understanding of Truth, he constantly sought opportunities to help others, but to no avail.

Finally, he was ill, and the illness did not easily yield to Christian Science treatment. After suffering for some time, he turned in humility to God, praying to learn more about his true identity as a perfect idea of divine Mind. These words came to him, "You must give up your false sense of self."
