Jean Practices the Golden Rule

[Of Special Interest to Children]

One afternoon Jean's brownie troop met in the school library. Jean was very much excited because today the troop leader would pass out the Girl Scout calendars. Each girl would receive two. These she would sell; and a portion of the money would be sent in to the Girl Scout headquarters, but the rest could be kept by the brownie troop and put into their treasury.

The troop leader gathered up a stack of new calendars, each in a white envelope, which was on her desk. An expectant hush fell over the room. Jean sat down next to Lynn, a new girl who had just joined the troop.

"I can't wait to sell mine," Jean whispered to Lynn.
