It has been my privilege to learn...
It has been my privilege to learn the truths of Christian Science from babyhood. In the Sunday School I was taught the correct understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him and how to apply this understanding to meet my daily needs and solve problems.
When I was attending a business school, a couple of the young people who lived near our home became ill with a so-called contagious disease. Then my sister became ill with it, and I was told by the doctor, whom my mother had called upon in compliance with the law, that I would certainly manifest the disease. I mentally denied this and felt that the truth I knew of God and man would protect me.
But, to my dismay, the symptoms appeared. I closed myself in my room and prayed. Suddenly I realized that I had been using Christian Science to protect myself against something I was accepting as real about the others. I saw that if I accepted it as true about them, it could claim to be true about me also.
