In gratitude for all the blessings...
In gratitude for all the blessings I have had since I began to study Christian Science, I submit this testimony.
I had suffered from time to time from inflammation and spots in the mouth. I talked about this to a practitioner, who spoke to me of the mental concept of mouth as the means of expressing our gratitude to God and of praising our brother men and expressing kindness and loving words to them because we know that they are actually just as much God's image and likeness as we are ourselves.
I knew that if I watched my thoughts, I would express them audibly in right words and would then feel only softness and no irritation or inflammation. A verse from the Bible helped me also. It reads (Ps. 141:3), "Set a watch, O Lord, before my lips." I cannot remember exactly when the healing took place, but the condition completely disappeared.
