[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on November 1, 1964.]

Chaff... driven with the whirlwind out of the floor (Hos. 13:3)

The Hebrew word translated "floor" has reference to a threshing floor. This was originally a round open space, preferably on a hill, where the wind would quickly blow away the chaff as the grain was threshed.

He shall... cast forth his roots as Lebanon (Hos. 14:5)
