I should like to express my...
I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy, who gave us Science and Health.
Many years ago my husband was very sick. He was not a Christian Scientist, so he had a doctor. There was no money coming in; but the doctor had to be paid and medicine bought and consequently I was left with very little to get along on. One day I had little in the house to eat. Being a Scientist myself, I sought the help of a practitioner. She advised me not to discuss the situation with anyone but to pray to God in secret. She assured me that He would help me. So I prayed.
At that time we had a very large apartment. A few hours after I talked to the practitioner, my doorbell rang; I went to the door, and a young couple stood there. They wanted to rent a room. I told them I did not as a rule rent rooms; but since I had this large apartment, I might be able to accommodate them. The husband said he was a traveling man, and he wanted his wife settled before he left. He would be gone two weeks and home two weeks, and he asked if I could have his wife as a boarder while he was gone. I agreed to let her have a room. I knew that divine Love had sent these people to my home, and I was paid two weeks' rent in advance.
