Since having a testimony published...
Since having a testimony published in The Christian Science Journal of January, 1945, I have continued to feel increasingly grateful for Mrs. Eddy's revelation of Christian Science to this age. I have found solutions to all problems as they have arisen in daily life. This I attribute to the wise teaching I received when I had class instruction in Christian Science.
What I learned then was never more valuable than during a long drawn-out period of caring for a close relative through several forms of illness. This one and the rest of my family were unsympathetic to Christian Science, and it often appeared that mortal mind was using all weapons to try to make me bow down and serve it. I was continuing with my daily profession as well as running the home, feeling constant anxiety regarding finding suitable help in nursing and in the house.
When I affirmed God's ability to always meet the human need, one door always opened as another one closed. I would sometimes feel as if I were in a trap from which there was no escape. However, Love showed me at last the way out of this erroneous thinking, and I came to see clearly that I was free right where I was. My freedom was the ability to think and act rightly, which nothing could take away. As I learned to free myself mentally from certain human relationships by acknowledging man's status as the child of his Father-Mother God, I realized that there was a lesson for me to learn from each trial and that when I had learned the lessons there would be no more trials.
