A College Student Writes

Utilizing Divine Power

Mrs. Eddy states in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 69): "Science rests on Principle and demonstration. The Principle of Christian Science is divine. Its rule is, that man shall utilize the divine power." When we demonstrate the power of divine Principle, God, we are proving our at-one-ment with Him.

Recently I had an opportunity to "utilize the divine power" while taking a midsemester examination. As I glanced through the material before me, I realized that some of the questions were unfamiliar.

Since I had made careful preparation in studying the subject matter of the examination and in prayerful work in Christian Science, I knew that nothing need be withheld from me. As I began working on some of the questions, I knew that since I was in reality God's child, the divine law of unfoldment was ever operating in my consciousness, revealing whatever I needed to know. Mrs. Eddy writes in the textbook, Science and Health (p. 454): "Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must 'have her perfect work.' " As I patiently and silently declared the truths of man's perfection, the needed answers came to my thought. This experience proved to me that God is always with us to help and guide us if we but turn to Him.
