Independence
History has many examples of people who wanted independence. Some had courage and won it. Some gave up when they saw the fight they would have to put up for it. Some deserted and went over to the other side because they never really wanted independence in the first place.
Christian Science offers independence to anyone. It offers independence from the false law of the one great tyrant: mortal mind. It offers triumph in Truth. One who seeks independence through demonstrating the real man's dependence upon God alone needs to know the cost and must face himself honestly to decide whether he really wants it or whether he just likes to look at it through the plate-glass window of personal sense while preserving his sense of ease in matter.
Independence takes moral courage. Many men feel that independence is a fine thing. Some really long for it but do not have it. Some are satisfied without it. And a few have already gained it.
