Almost 60 years ago, Christian Science made its first appearance in Bradford. Its adherents grew in number until in 1938 they took over Greenfield Church in Carlisle Road and opened it a year later, an event which members are celebrating on Sunday with three commemorative services.
The first recorded date of the Christian Science movement in Bradford is October 2, 1902, when [a Christian Scientist] of Bingley visited the city to give a talk on the subject to friends.
