I am glad to be able to testify to the power of divine, infinite Mind, which heals all ills. I first heard of Christian Science twenty-five years ago through my sister, who lives in Switzerland. I at once procured the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and read it with great interest, finding in it what I needed, namely the bread of eternal Life, which Christ Jesus imparted in healing the sick and delivering men from sin and death.

During the years before I heard of Science I had always suffered more or less from illness. Through the consecrated study of the textbook and with the help through prayer of my sister, I was healed of the smoking habit and various illnesses. I had suffered from a chronic lung condition, a cough, and rheumatism. These conditions fell away like leaves from the trees in autumn, and my thinking was completely transformed.

I had, however, also been afflicted previously with a serious kidney ailment, and this was not healed so quickly. My condition became so alarming to my wife, who is not a Christian Scientist, that one day, without my consent, she sent for a doctor, who had me taken to a hospital. The doctor diagnosed the disease as suppuration of the kidneys.
