RADIO PROGRAM No. 62 - You Don't Have to Drink

HOST: Young people are being called upon to consider at a much earlier age than ever before the question of drinking. Surveys indicate that while some students abstain completely, quite a few tend to feel that drinking is important to them socially. Many young people today ask: How can I refuse to drink and not be left out?

SPEAKER: Young people have good reasons for not drinking, and they can stand their ground without being handicapped socially or otherwise. Take the fear of being left out. That can be overcome when a young person works out his social relations from a spiritual standpoint. The really satisfying answer, as we see it in Christian Science, is to learn our God-given identity: who we really are. That's what overcomes fear.

HOST: But what about the young person who feels he needs a drink so he can have a good time?
