I am grateful that class instruction...

I am grateful that class instruction came early in my experience as a student of Christian Science, for it equipped me spiritually to solve problems that presented themselves later on.

When the desire to take class instruction came, it seemed impossible of fulfillment for several reasons. I lacked the money; I had two very young children to care for; and I had no means of transportation get to the teacher, who lived in another city. However, Mrs. Eddy's words on page 1 of Science and Health came to me, "Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds." Feeling that the desire for class instruction was a right one, I applied to the teacher and was accepted for her next class.

Shortly thereafter I was able to earn the money I needed in my own home in a way I had not thought of before—by caring for other children during the day along with our own. Next, my husband was able to take our children to his parents' home in another state during his regular vacation which he took at the same time that I had class instruction. Lastly, transportation was provided when I shared my home with two other members of the class. Truly the assurance of Jesus, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt. 6:33), was proved correct.
