More than a decade ago I was sick in soul and body, discouraged, uncertain of real values, and altogether bewildered by the daily experience of ill fortune.

Today I am exceedingly grateful to state that I am well, hopeful, equipped with a better understanding of true values, and more secure in an atmosphere of growing peacefulness. This remarkable change took place gradually over a period of years. Prior to my knowledge of Christian Science, I had vaguely reached out for some evidence of spiritual truth. I spent considerable time in study of the New Testament. It brought me much comfort.

Then, at a time of great need, I asked a dear one, a Christian Scientist, to send me Christian Science literature. She introduced me to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I read from this book little by little, intermittently, until finally my study of it became continuous. What I read established in my thought a satisfying fact: God is good, and God is All. I felt that to understand this great fact had been the object of my search these many past years. Now that I was on the right path I became a diligent seeker, a patient listener. There was much to learn.
